AUGUST 2022

TORONTO, CAN

August 20

We got up early and made our way to the ambassador bridge to cross into Canada. It was a 4 hour drive from where we live in Michigan, and it was nothing but pine trees for miles. We passed through the town that Olivia’s parents are from, having some authentic Canadian fast food on our route.

August 21

We got up early and walked over to the ferry, slowly making our way across Lake Ontario, to Toronto Island. We spent the day biking around the small island, enjoying the beaches and drinks! The sky began to darken and we made our way back to the mainland, making a stop at Ripley’s Aquarium!

August 22

Our last on this small getaway was visiting Casa Loma, a Gothic Revival castle-style mansion and garden in midtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, that is now a historic house museum and landmark. We wandered its big hallways and made our way to the basement that stores the old wine cellars. The garden were beautiful despite the rain fall! We headed home later that day, remebering we can always escape to Canada!
